Holman attains rank of Eagle Scout

Zachary Douglas Holman of Boy Scout Troop 19 of Plainfield achieved the rank of Eagle Scout on April 15.

Holman celebrated the achievement at his Eagle Court of Honor on July 24 at St. Mary Immaculate Parish.

Holman joined scouting in March 2010, having never been a Cub Scout.

To earn the rank of Eagle, Holman earned 35 merit badges and demonstrated leadership and community service by organizing and carrying out an Eagle project.

Holman also held multiple troop positions, including assistant senior patrol leader, patrol leader, patrol quartermaster and assistant patrol leader.

For his project, Holman designed, built and installed hat/glove racks and bat racks for four dugouts at Families of Faith Christian Academy in Channahon. Holman’s project totaled 366 hours of service for his troop, his family and himself.

Holman is a graduate of Minooka Community High School. He currently is attending Western Illinois University, majoring in law enforcement and justice administration and minoring in psychology.

Holman is the son of Chris and Susie Holman. He has a brother, McGwire, who also is a Boy Scout, and a sister, Corbyn.
