The Morris Herald-News' Women of Distinction honor represents the women of Greater Grundy County who give of themselves for the betterment of others. There are many women in our community deserving of this honor.
From volunteer extraordinaires to inspiring teachers, it's difficult to imagine the Grundy County area without these role models. After much deliberation by the judges ... and scrambling around to make surprise notifications to the winners, the Morris Herald-News is proud to announce the 2017 Women of Distinction: Jan Hibler, Andrea Gustafson and Cathy Milne.
As in past years, following the nomination period, the winners were selected by former Women of Distinction award recipients. With over 20 nominations this year, the committee had a difficult time narrowing down the field to only three recipients.
“All of these women are an inspiration,” one of the members of the selection committee said.
Ultimately, the three selected stood out because of their selfless acts for others. The 2017 Women of Distinction winners will be honored at a luncheon set for Wednesday, Oct. 11 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Morris Country Club.
This event is open to the public and tickets are $30 per person.
Reserve your tickets by Sept. 29 online at: www.shawmediaevents.com/e/wod2017 or call 815-280-4113.
Advanced reservations are required. This event includes networking opportunities, lunch and an awards ceremony to honor the three honorees.
The Honorees will also have an opportunity to share their stories. Sponsors of this event include: Morris Hospital, Dutch Girl Photography, Grundy County Chamber of Commerce, Morris Retail Association and R-Place.
