JOLIET – A Minooka man was arrested by Joliet police after exposing and touching himself in front of two women outside Walmart, authorities said.
On Monday, Clifton Mason, 34, of the 500 block of Rivers Edge Drive in Minooka, was arrested after he allegedly exposed himself to a 55-year-old woman in the parking lot of the 2424 W. Jefferson St. Walmart.
The arrest follows another incident on Aug. 25, when Mason allegedly exposed himself to a 33-year-old female truck driver who was parked in the 4100 block of Olympic Boulevard in Joliet.
Mason was charged with public indecency in connection with both incidents and released on his own recognizance.
In the August incident, Mason allegedly pulled up to the truck driver in a Jeep and made lewd comments to her, Joliet Deputy Police Chief Ed Gregory said. The truck driver also allegedly saw Mason touching himself, Gregory said.
Mason drove off but the woman was able to get his license plate number and pass it on to the police, who tracked down his address with the assistance of Grundy County sheriff’s deputies, Gregory said. Mason’s car reportedly was not at the residence when the deputies stopped by.
Then, at about 9 a.m. Monday at the Walmart in Joliet, Mason allegedly approached the 55-year-old woman, who was in a van. The woman alleged saw Mason touching himself with his pants down.
The woman took out her cellphone and recorded video of the incident, police said. When Mason noticed what she was doing, he drove off, Gregory said. Mason was later found at the McDonough Street Motel 6, Gregory said, and he was placed under arrest.
