MORRIS – Road work is tearing up streets north of downtown as new sanitary sewers are being installed as part of a multi-phase project. Crews are working from Pleasant to Wauponsee streets, with work stopping at Liberty Street.

The work is Phase Three of a project that began about four years ago, said Guy Christensen of Chamlin and Associates, Morris' engineering firm. He said he expects the work to be completed in six weeks, weather depending.

He said it is a long term control plan that included the expansion of the sewage treatment plant.
