Morris Rotary donates dictionaries to Morris, Mazon students

MORRIS – Every September, members of the Morris Rotary Club visit the elementary schools in Morris and surrounding communities to give free Dictionary Gazetteers to all third-graders.

It is a personal dictionary of their very own, that will serve them at least through elementary and middle school. Saratoga Elementary, Immaculate Conception School, Morris Grade School, Nettle Creek Elementary and Mazon Elementary all were visited by a Morris Rotary member.

The children were all thrilled to receive the book, which is much more than just a dictionary and contains other information about the United States, its presidents, Constitution and government.

Those interested in finding out more about the Morris Rotary Club, can join them for dinner any Tuesday evening, except the first week of the month – at 5:45 p.m. at Maria’s Ristorante, located at 1591 Division St. in Morris.

The group has also formed Morris Young Leaders in Action for the purpose of gathering young leaders in the community to share ideas and give back. The group meets at 5:30 p.m. the third Wednesday of the month at Montage Wine & Spirits at 307 Liberty St., Morris.
