Each year, the county board battles to create a balanced budget. What actions can the board take to minimize the tax burden on residents while not sacrificing services?
We do not need to balance the budget on the backs of the taxpayers. Illinois taxes are out of control and as a county board member I will not add to that burden. I will work with my fellow board members to reduce spending and provide relief for our residents.
Grundy County has become a favorite target for solar farm companies setting up shop on local farm land. What impact do you think these green energy facilities will have and do you see it as a net gain or loss for the county?
Any landowner can do with their land as they see fit, it’s their property. I believe solar power can be a segment of a larger network of power providers and I would welcome any viable power source to drive down energy costs.
Expansion from the Chicago metro area is creeping towards Grundy County. Do you think this could be good or bad for the county? What actions should the county take to either encourage the growth or help stave it off?
We should encourage responsible economic development. We can bring in good paying jobs for Grundy county without sacrificing our communities.
What projects within the county would you like to see addressed during your term, should you be elected?
I am a big proponent of infrastructure improvement. Truck traffic increases every year, more and more people are moving into our neighborhoods and we need to make sure we have the roads and bridges to keep up with growth.
