MORRIS — Morris police are investigating a possible armed robbery.

Police responded to a report of an armed robbery at 9:25 a.m. Wednesday at the Morris Coin Shop at 302 Liberty St.

At the scene, Detective Alicia Steffes said the suspect was an approximately 6-foot tall man with possible scruffy facial hair. He was reportedly wearing dark clothing and a mask that covered part of his face.

He left the scene in a black four-door car heading west on Main Street, and the vehicle was last scene heading south on Wauponsee Street.

The vehicle had a new-style license plate with the possible first two numbers being two and five.

Steffes said everyone in the shop was fine. She could not say if anything was taken from the shop.

Officers were searching the area Wednesday morning and checking security cameras.
