VERONA - An early morning fire claimed the life of a Verona woman Tuesday.
The body of Elizabeth A. Link, 39, was found just before 7 a.m. as fire officials were extinguishing a fire at 3200 South Verona Road, according to a press release from the Grundy County Coroner's Office.
Link was pronounced dead at the scene by Grundy County Coroner John Callahan.
An autopsy was done Tuesday afternoon, but no further details are being released at this time, the release read.
The death remains under investigation by the coroner's office, Grundy County Sheriff’s Office and the Illinois State Fire Marshal’s Office. Several area fire departments assisted at the scene, according to the release.
