Since Santa was on summer vacation members of St. Juvin Post 1336 VFW filled in as his helpers. Post members stopped in at the New Hope Presbyterian Church and the Coal City Public Library District picking up donations of “extras” that were collected for the library’s “Christmas in July” event for residents the Illinois Veteran’s Home in Manteno.

About $625 in donated snacks, new clothing articles and other items were delivered to the veterans for use at the home.

St. Juvin members wish to thank the Coal City Public Library District for hosting the event, the New Hope congregation and the community for their generosity and for remembering our vets.
