MORRIS - Students at Morris Community High School traded in their sneakers and skinny jeans for tuxedos and formal gowns during the annual MCHS Prom Walk Saturday night.
Students met at the school as early as 1:30 p.m. to take professional photos and primp for the MCHS Prom 2017 Moonlight Masquerade. At 4 p.m. sharp, the students went to the main gym where principal Kelly Hussey read each name aloud and the couple or student took the walk around the perimeter of the gym to show off their fancy attire.
There were a couple trends this year with the girls’ dresses. Floral print, as well as the two-piece style or open back were the majority of the style of dresses on the walk. Colors ranged from pastels to primary colors and black to metallic.
Gone are the days of the plain black tuxedo. The guys were just as colorful as the girls with tuxedo colors of blue, black, gray, tan and white. Ties ranged from the bow tie to a neck tie, most in a color to match their date.
