The Barbs turned the ball over on downs at the Morris 27, but Morris was forced to punt, giving the ball to DeKalb at its own 33 with 1:19 to play in the third. Early in the fourth quarter, DeKalb faced 4th and 1 from the Morris 29, and Jaylen Hobson broke through the line and raced 29 yards for a touchdown. Tierney's kick made it 16-10 with 10:30 to play.
Morris punted on its ensuing possession, and DeKalb took over at its own 23. Facing 4th and 8 from the 40, Laurie sacked Valin for an eight-yard loss, giving Morris the ball at the DeKalb 32 with 5:54 to play.
The Redskins chewed up yardage and time, running nine plays, all on the ground, to reach the Barbs' two-yard line. Hatcher kicked a 20-yard field goal with 1:21 to play to put Morris ahead, 19-10.
Alex Cameron intercepted a pass on DeKalb's first play after the kickoff and returned it to the Barbs' 4. From there, Morris took a knee twice and the game ended.
"We work on that type of offense all the time in practice," Thorson said. "We want to use up as much of the clock as we can, and the kids ran it to perfection.
"This was as good of an overall game as we have played. We knew we would have to win all three phases of the game, and we did. Our offense controlled the ball, our defense was outstanding and our special teams were very good. This was a complete team win."
