Grundy County Veterans Assistance Commission for Veterans

SPONSORED

Since our nation was founded over 240 years ago, men and women have served in our nation’s military. Some served a few years and others served a career, but one thing they all have in common is that we now call them a Veteran of the United States of America. There are specific veteran challenges, benefits and needs that these men and women have, but where do they go to access them?

Do you know all of the programs, services and benefits that are available from every federal, state and local organization? Probably not. Odds are very high that veterans don’t know where to turn, either. That is where your county Veterans Assistance Commission comes in.

The Grundy County Veterans Assistance Commission (GCVAC) was established to be one point of contact for veterans and their families. The GCVAC is here to help honorably discharged veterans learn about and gain access to the many benefits available to them from federal, state and local organizations. Some of the possible benefits that eligible veterans can access include: healthcare, compensation for service related injuries and illnesses; educational, burial and surviving spouse benefits. The GCVAC also help veterans and their families access other agencies for assistance beyond the scope of the GCVAC, such as financial emergencies.

There is no greater honor than serving your country. It is our honor and privilege of the GCVAC to serve those who have served our nation.

The GCVAC is available by calling 815-941-3152 or via email at vacgrundycounty@gmail.com. Grundy County Administrative Center is located at 1320 Union Street (corner of Union and Route 6) in Morris.

#GiveGrundy is a monthly series highlighting the nonprofits serving Grundy County. All of these organizations share a unified mission to give to the community that supported all of our organizations.
