Have you ever had chaos in your home? So much of daily life can contribute to stress at home, but the fact is, once chaos enters your home, everything else in life can just seem “off.” In Grundy County, where rent and utilities for a two-bedroom apartment routinely exceed $1,000.00 per month, money is too often the cause of stress for many people.
At the Grundy County Housing Authority our mission is to help relieve the stress caused by costs related to housing. As a municipal corporation chartered by the State of Illinois, we work very hard every day to leverage federal, state, local, and private resources to improve the lives of some of the most vulnerable people in Grundy County: people with disabilities and seniors.
At Saratoga Tower (Morris), Mazon Park Place, and Gardner Village Commons, our residents find affordable rents and utilities. To be clear: the people we help do not receive free rent; we help residents afford safe, decent, and sanitary homes. Our non-profit partners help residents reduce household food costs, both with hot meals and food they can prepare at home. Our private sector partners allow us to provide substantially reduced television, phone, and internet services.
Here is another fact: We can’t do it without you. Everyone, yes - everyone, has something to offer. If it’s work you do in your home, then it’s work we do here at the Grundy County Housing Authority. The opportunities to help are as endless as the ages and abilities of the people who help.
Whether you need help, or you want to lend a hand, please give us a call at 815-942-6198 or visit us online at htttp:facebook.com/grundyhousing. Be a part of something truly wonderful.
