MORRIS – Volunteers are needed Saturday to help with a spring cleanup at Saratoga Tower in Morris. Saratoga Tower is home to low-income residents who are elderly or have a disability.
“I think it’s extraordinary how Grundy County comes together to support seniors and people with disabilities,” Housing Authority CEO Brent Newman said. “We are always grateful for anyone who can take the time to come help them.”
The building, which has 95 apartments, will get an inside and outside cleaning.
Newman said that for those who would rather work inside, there is sweeping, mopping and dusting that needs to be done.
For those who prefer to spend their time outdoors, Newman said that it’s the typical yardwork, such as sweeping and clearing of leaves, that most homes need in the spring.
There also are raised flower beds on the back patio of the building that need to be prepared for planting.
