GARDNER – Community members are invited from 9 to 11 a.m. May 14 to visit the new Gardner Healthcare Center of Morris Hospital. The open house will feature a variety of activities, such as free blood-pressure screenings, free glucose (diabetes) screenings, games for the children, giveaways and refreshments. Family medicine physician Dr. Jennifer Thomas and nurse practitioner Kathy Ulivi will visit with guests.
The center is located at 409 N. Route 53 in Gardner, on the same property where the former Southeastern Grundy Medical Center building once stood. The project broke ground in early fall 2015 and the staff moved in November 2015. The new 2,200-square-foot office building was built on land donated by Southeastern Grundy Medical Center Inc. with an agreement that Morris Hospital remains in Gardner for a minimum of 10 additional years.
The building includes 1,500 square feet of office space dedicated to the Gardner Healthcare Center, where staff provide medical care, along with same-day appointments, on-site blood draws, blood-pressure screenings, immunizations, physicals, and ePrescribing. Local dentist Richard Neu occupies the remaining 700 square feet. For information, visit www.morrishospital.org/gardner.
