SENECA – The Seneca American Legion will be hosting its annual outdoor Breakfast in the Park on Sunday, July 16. Serving times for the rain-or-shine event will be 8 a.m. until noon, and menu items will include pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage links, homemade breakfast pastries, juice, coffee and milk.
An adult breakfast will cost just $6, and children ages 10 and younger can eat for $2.
Breakfast in the Park will be served under the shelter at Crotty Park on Shipyard Road in Seneca.
Guests also will be able to view the LST Memorial honoring WWII shipyard workers and LST veterans.
In addition to the breakfast, the post will be selling and taking orders for high quality U.S. flags in all sizes.
This year’s breakfast will also feature a special 50/50 raffle. Tickets are now available from all post members and will also be sold at the event. Breakfast proceeds are used to help Kasal Post 457’s yearly commitments to the community.
Current projects include local student college scholarships, sponsoring area candidates to Boys State and Girls State, decorating veteran gravesites at four cemeteries, Blue Star banners, donations to the LaSalle County Veterans Home, maintenance of Seneca’s Memorial Wall and donations to the Seneca Food Pantry.
