MORRIS – The Grundy County Historical Society has announced that Sarah Ferguson Potter of Modern Ancestry will speak about her journey and experience in researching her Grundy County roots at an upcoming meeting of the group.
Potter uses a combination of technology and local resources at the courthouse, library and museum. She has assembled a comprehensive story of her ancestors in Morris.
Grundy County has a variety of resources for people to discover more about
their ancestry. Potter will give an overview of available technology including online subscription services, DNA testing, Facebook and blogs to take their research further.
Nontechnology resources will also be shared because of the unique collections available at the museum, courthouse and library. The program will take place at
6 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, at the Morris Library at 604 Liberty St., Morris. Reservations are not necessary, and there is no fee.
