MORRIS – 3 French Hens French Country Market will celebrate its 10th anniversary July 14 at its open-air market. The event takes place rain or shine from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Canal Port Plaza, 123 W. Illinois Ave., Morris.
Organizers Monica Vogel and Traci Tessone invite all to join them for a ribbon-cutting and cake with Mayor Dick Kopczick at 10 a.m.
Contained gardening expert Teresa Reichman from Mama T’s will be on hand to offer tips and techniques for making terrariums from 10:45 to 11:30 a.m.
Local musicians Jonelle Marie Carter and Todd Witek will be playing from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. All special events will take place during the market at the Canal Boat Circle, located in front of the canal boat replica.
The festivities and giveaways will continue throughout the day.
Anniversary cake will be provided by MnM Specialties Bakeshop of Morris. Owner Monna Watchinski recently was contacted by the Food Network Channel and invited to audition for a future bake-off challenge.
A record number of vendors will be joining the Hens in July, including many whom were on hand for the inaugural market 10 years ago.
With three parking lots within a three block radius, there is plenty of free parking. There is no curbside parking on Illinois Avenue at the Market venue.
