MORRIS – The ribbon tree that has been set up at the Grundy County Administration Building for the month of October honoring those who are fighting or lost their battle with cancer is now being transformed into “The Giving Tree’” for the month of November.
The Grundy County Health Department is asking all employees of the county and residents to drop off any nonperishable items, such as canned goods, paper goods, diapers, toiletries and/or pet care items such as dry cat food, kitty litter, sturdy animal toys, warm hats, gloves and scarves to put under the tree.
All items will be donated to local agencies in need, including Grundy County Animal Control and We Care.
The tree will remain active until Nov. 30 and at that time items will be delivered to local agencies to disperse as needed.
The health department invites everyone to come into the Administration Building and bring a needed item to put under the tree or to “decorate” the tree using hats, scarves, gloves and other gifts.
The staff of Grundy County thank everyone for their generous donations to help families in Grundy County.
The Grundy County Administration Building is located at 1320 Union St. in Morris.
