Grundy County Coroner John Callahan released information on a deadly motorcycle crash that happened on Sunday night.
In a press release issued Monday, Callahan said 50-year-old Hiram T. Jackson of Morris had been killed on scene at a crash that occurred on Sunday evening.
The accident happened on Route 6 near Ashley Road at 10:20 p.m. on Sunday.
Preliminary investigation indicates Jacson was driving a motorcycle traveling eastbound on Route 6 left the roadway for an unknown reason. The motorcycle traveled approximately100 feet in the north ditch.
While traveling in the ditch Jackson hit a wooden post supporting a traffic sign, and both the bike and driver came to a rest in the north ditch.
The crash remains under investigation by the Callahan’s office and the Grundy County Sheriff’s Department.
Morris Fire and EMS also were on the scene.
