The Morris Theatre Guild will be holding auditions for Escanaba In Da Moonlight, their third production of the 2019-2020 season. Auditions will be held Sunday Nov. 3 from 2 to 4 p.m. and Monday, Nov. 4 from 7 to 8 p.m.
Escanaba In Da Moonlight is based on the 2001 comedy film of the same name written by Jeff Daniels.
According to The Morris Theatre Guild, the plot follows the Soady clan, who once again reunite for the opening day of deer season at the family’s camp in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Thirty-five year old Reuben Soady brings with him the infamous reputation of being the oldest Soady in the history of Soadys to never have bagged a buck.
Many of the characters are described as being in their 30s and 40s, but the guild says those ages are not a requirement for the actors trying out.
The play will premiere from March 6 to 15 of 2020. The last production of the season will be I Ought To Be In Pictures, which will run from May 8 to 17.
