Will-Grundy Medical Clinic recently received a $50,000 gift from AMITA Health Saint Joseph Medical Center.

“Continuing to support the safety net health organization in our community is an extension of our mission to ensure health equity for all, especially those that are vulnerable and underserved,” said Shannon Jermal, system director, community benefit, AMITA Health.

AMITA Health Saint Joseph Medical Center has been a devoted supporter of WGMC throughout the years. Generous donations such as this allow the clinic to provide access to health care for the uninsured and underinsured of Will and Grundy counties.

“AMITA Health Saint Joseph Medical Center has been instrumental in our continued efforts to provide access to care and maintain a healthy community,” said Shawn Marconi, executive director of Will-Grundy Medical Clinic. “We are so grateful for the overwhelming support that we receive each year from our community partners.”

The mission of the Will-Grundy Medical Clinic is to promote a healthy community by providing free health care services to people in Will and Grundy counties who are unable to receive care from other sources, and providing these services through dedicated health care professional volunteers and other volunteers, together with a paid staff, in alliance with other community agencies and health care providers.

Will-Grundy Medical Clinic is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.

For information, visit www.willgrundymedicalclinic.org.

The clinic does not receive any federal or state funding, but is 100% donor-supported and operates solely on fundraising through grants and donations.

For every dollar donated, WGMC can provide upward of $20 worth of health care.

By receiving such generous gifts, the clinic can drastically reduce emergency room visits and keep the community healthy.

Healthy individuals can continue to work, buy goods and services, and help contribute to the economic development in their community.
