Morris Hospital is offering an eight-week program called Eat Real for anyone who wants to eat healthier and improve their health. Classes will meet Tuesdays, Feb. 11 through March 31, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in Conference Room 2 on the hospital’s lower level, 150 W. High St. in Morris.
“Diet is such a big part of our health, yet often we don’t take the time to prepare healthy meals,” says Leigh Anne Hall, Wellness Manager at Morris Hospital. “Eat Real focuses on recipes and meal planning that use real food instead of convenience foods. It’s a great way to increase your appetite for natural and healthful foods and gain confidence in the grocery store and kitchen. After completing the class, we hope participants will look forward to being asked, ‘What’s for dinner tonight?’”
Classes will include nutrition education with a focus on snacking, breakfast, salads, chocolate, Mediterranean foods, spices, and plant based recipes. There’s even one week devoted to making healthy pizza. Participants will get to sample a different recipe each week and will have weekly assignments to complete.
The cost is $59 and includes a copy of the Eat REAL Cookbook, a one-year subscription to over 1,000 recipes on EatRealAmerican.com, a wipe-erase REAL food daily defender checklist, and a REAL food shopping list notepad; all the tools needed to help make participants successful.
