Although it’s concerning that the 2019-nCoV has now spread person to person in the United States – the initial data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention suggested it was transmitted from animal to person – Gupta said it’s reassuring that, so far, the virus is not being transmitted via casual contact.
"Such as someone in the grocery store or movie theater," Gupta said.
Gupta said in the previous Herald-News story that he doesn't think the 2019-nCoV will come to Will County and he’s still fairly confident of it.
“But it is spreading fairly rapidly with the way the world is now with travel so there’s no way to really tell,” Gupta said.
