Grundy County Sheriff's Deputy Aaron Cory was promoted to the rank of Sergeant during a special recognition ceremony at last week's County Board meeting.
Cory joined the department in 2012. He is a four-time Illinois Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) Hero Award recipient for his aggressive Impaired Driving Enforcement and an Illinois Looking Beyond the Belt Award recipient for his outstanding traffic enforcement.
Cory serves as a department K9 handler, Field Training Officer, Department Firearms Instructor and is currently the head Advisor for the Sheriff’s Youth Police Explorer Program.
Sheriff Ken Briley noted that Sgt. Cory also placed first on the Sergeant’s promotional list.
