MORRIS — The Community Foundation of Grundy County announced Friday that additional grant awards from the Disaster Fund have been approved. This week, the Board of Trustees at CFGC approved four grants totaling $9,500.
Will-Grundy Medical Clinic was awarded a grant to allow for their continued medical services of low-income residents in Will and Grundy Counties. Grundy Resource Organization and Mazon Food Pantry were both awarded grants to assist in stocking their pantries as the need for food assistance has increased. Illinois Valley Industries received funds to purchase personal protective equipment, as well as other medical supplies, to maintain the health and safety of staff and clients.
The Disaster Fund was re-activated in March to support local not-for-profits in responding to the increase in need for social services locally. While disaster funds have quickly been depleted, the Community Foundation will continue to review applications as they are received and will work to meet the needs as best they can, according to program director Devan Gagliardo.
