MORRIS – The Grundy County Health Department announced in a press release Friday two different Grundy opportunities this weekend at which the Illinois Department of Public Health is sponsoring a drive-through COVID-19 test site.
The Grundy County Health Department has coordinated with the IDPH to provide a mobile unit locally. Testing will be offered to anyone – regardless of symptoms or asymptomatic – by way of a nasal swab. Results will be available 4-7 days after specimen collection.
Residents of any county are invited to this site, and should bring a health insurance card, but no one will be turned away for inability to pay.
The mobile testing units will be available Saturday, Sept. 12 and Sunday, Sept. 13 from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. at Saratoga School, located at 4040 N. Division St. in Morris.
IDPH plans to dispatch a mobile unit regardless of weather conditions, but the site manager may choose to hold off on opening or decide to close early if weather becomes too concerning.
It is important to note that this host site was determined based on ease for public access, and is not related to an outbreak at the school. Rather, school officials have cooperated to provide amble space for the mobile testing unit and anticipated traffic.
