The Morris Lady Redskins tennis team begins Class 1A sectional play on Friday at Ottawa High School.

Morris's No. 1 doubles team, which qualified for the state tournament last year, have earned the top seed this weekend. Senior Kyla Kjellesvik and junior Grace Lines take their 12-4 record and begin sectional play with a first round match against Audrey Lopez and Lucy Kleczewski of Saint Bede Academy.

The other doubles tandem for Morris (6-3) is junior Tessa Brummel and junior Elizabeth Kenney, who will face off against Emma Hrr and Kylie Jackson of Coal City.

In the singles sectional, junior Kayla Walker (9-7) will face Mary Defore of Mendota, while the other singles participant is junior Libby Wright, who brings a 12-4 record to play Mendota's Maddy Pappas.

Play begins at 1 on Friday afternoon.
